Blew $85 on a 'clutch' golf putter grip that made me worse, here's the warning
Two months back I dropped $85 on one of those fat oversized putter grips everyone swears by, thinking it would fix my yips on 3 footers. Played 6 rounds with it at my local course in Tucson and my putts per round actually went up from 31 to 36, because the thing killed all the feel in my hands. Turns out a grip can't fix a bad stroke, and I lost $85 plus probably another $40 in skins money before I ripped it off. Went back to my old thin grip and shot my best round of the summer last Saturday. Anyone else get suckered into gear that made the make or break moment harder instead of easier?
