I used to say icing the kicker never works, then Justin Tucker hit one from 66 in Detroit
I always argued icing the kicker was just a coach stalling to look busy. Then my friend Dave, who kicked in college at Toledo, told me the real problem is the refs won't blow it dead fast enough and the kicker still gets a warmup swing anyway. Sure enough, in Detroit that night Justin Tucker drilled a 66 yarder right after the Ravens got iced, and I sat there with my mouth open. So now I'm wondering, is icing actually dead or did we just watch the one guy on earth who doesn't care?
