Spent $300 on a coolant filter system and it's been a total game changer
Our shop was constantly dealing with clogged lines and finish issues on aluminum parts, so I pitched the boss on a basic aftermarket filter unit. After running it for two months, we've had zero unexpected stops for cleaning and the tool life on our VMCs has noticeably improved. Is a dedicated filter worth the setup hassle, or is regular sump cleaning good enough for most jobs?

A cheap filter might just catch the big chunks, but the fine stuff that ruins finishes still gets through. You really need a unit rated for the particle size your work makes. That's why a basic filter can feel like it's not doing the full job.

My buddy's shop ran a cheap filter for a year and still had to flush the whole system twice.
