That $600 used CNC plasma table I bought on Craigslist was a total money pit

I sunk about 200 hours into wiring and calibration issues before I finally scrapped it for parts. Anyone else been burned buying used gear that looked like a deal but ended up costing more than new?

and thats exactly it - did you at least get your moneys worth from the scrap parts you salvaged? cause I had a similar situation with a used Bridgeport mill that I thought was a steal at $800 but after replacing the spindle bearings and cleaning out all the old grease (ugh) it actually runs better than new.

I read someone call it the "craigslist tax" and that's painfully accurate lol.
