Pro tip: skip the video tutorials and type the code out from a book, seriously
When I picked up Python last winter here in Columbus, I binged about 12 hours of YouTube tutorials and could not write a single loop on my own. My buddy Mike handed me a beat up copy of Automate the Boring Stuff and told me to type every example by hand instead of copy pasting. Three weeks of that and I finally understood why my indentation errors kept breaking stuff, because my fingers knew where the blocks went. Videos made me feel like I was learning, but typing it out slow is what made it stick. Anyone else find that old school way works better than watching someone else code?
