Dropped out to code, my first freelance site got rejected 12 times
Two months after leaving Ohio State, I landed a $500 gig building a site for a local auto shop. Took the money upfront, spent 3 weeks on it, and the owner sent back 12 separate revisions. Wanted a different font, then a different shade of blue, then the logo smaller, then bigger. I fixed all of it and he still paid me late. That was my welcome to real work. Has anyone else's first paying job after dropping out turn into a nightmare, or was it just me?

Tbh that sounds rough but also kinda normal for the first gig. Honestly the auto shop guy probably had no idea what he wanted and just kept moving goalposts. I had a similar thing where I built a site for this lady who ran a dog grooming place and she kept asking me to add random stuff like a live weather widget and a photo of her cousin's cat. Ngl I did it all because I needed the money and then she said the whole thing looked too busy and wanted me to strip it back to basically a landing page. The kicker was she paid me in cash and counted out the bills super slow like she was doing me a favor. Real work is just people testing how much nonsense you'll put up with before you finally say no.
