My freelance client ghosted me last week after I'd already done 80% of the web design work.

They owed me $1200 and just stopped answering emails, which really messed up my rent payment. Has anyone else had a client just vanish like that, and what did you do about it?

Send a demand letter, then take them to small claims.

Did something similar happen to my friend. She ended up sending a final invoice marked "past due" and that got the client to finally reply.
