Went from a 4 year plan to a 6 month cert, best choice I made in Omaha

I dropped out of UNO after two semesters of floundering in gen ed classes, then jumped into a community college welding cert program that cost me around $3,200 total. Now I'm two years into a shop job making $28 an hour, and the only regret I have is not leaving sooner. Has anyone else traded a degree path for a trade school and felt the weight lift off your shoulders?
