Hit 500 logged dives last Tuesday and the number that mattered was 47
I finally hit 500 logged dives last Tuesday during a pier inspection job in San Diego, and honestly the round number did not do much for me. What threw me was when I sorted my logbook by depth and saw 47 dives past 180 feet. I always figured I stayed shallow, mostly harbor and bridge work around 30 to 60 feet, so seeing that many deep ones staring back at me was a wake up call about how fast this job adds up. My old supervisor used to say the logbook does not lie even when your memory does, and sitting on the dock that evening it finally landed. Do any of you track depth bands in your logs, or am I the only one who got surprised by his own numbers?
