I thought the guy telling me to skip the surface swim in the St. Johns River was lazy
Last month on a dock job in Jacksonville, an old diver named Ray watched me gear up and told me to save my air instead of fighting the current on the surface. He said he learned it after a 6 knot flow down in Louisiana wore him out before he even hit bottom, and when I finally tried drifting down on the line instead, I finished the inspection with 800 psi left instead of surfacing with 200. Do you all ride the current down or do you still swim it out on top?
