TIL a $4 pack of cheap nitrile gloves beat my old cloth mats for pulling a board out of a flooded Dell
Had a client in Reno bring in a laptop that sat in a flooded garage, and I grabbed my usual cloth mat to work on the board. The mat was still damp from the shop sink earlier, and I got a little tingle through my hand when I touched the SATA connector. Went to the corner store and got a $4 box of nitrile gloves instead, and the tingles stopped and my hands stayed dry the whole teardown. Now I keep a box by the bench and toss them after each water damage job. Anyone got a better setup for wet boards, or is the glove box good enough?
