My custom gaming rig just gave up mid-match, and I’m debating console life now
Last Tuesday my RTX 2070 started artifacting in the middle of a ranked Overwatch 2 match, and after six hours of swapping parts I’m pretty sure the whole card is fried. I’m looking at $400 for a replacement GPU, or I could grab a used Xbox Series X for $350 and just plug and play. Am I crazy for seriously considering ditching PC for console after one hardware failure?

Wait, a whole RTX 2070 just fried mid-match? That's rough, I'd be so mad. I mean, I get being tempted by the simplicity of a console after that, but $350 for a used Xbox feels like you're paying to lock yourself out of your whole Steam library. Maybe it's just me, but I'd rather hunt for a deal on a used 2070 Super or something before making that huge switch.

Have you thought about snagging a used 2070 Super for like $250 instead? @hannah240 is right, losing your Steam library is a real bummer, and Overwatch runs way smoother on PC if you ask me. A console is nice for the simplicity, but you're basically throwing away all the games you already own.
