PS5 SSD filled up 12 minutes into a 40GB patch, and I had nothing lined up
My launch PS5 finally hit its limit last Tuesday night. I went to install a 40GB update for a game I barely play and got the "not enough space" message with 18GB free, because the console wants double room to patch. I ended up deleting three games I actually wanted to keep and it still wouldn't start until I moved a save file to a USB drive. If you're sitting at under 50GB free, check your storage now before a patch drops and leaves you stuck at 11pm like I was. What's your low space rule, do you clear stuff ahead of time or just wait for the message?
