Serious question, did I miss the point of owning a gaming PC for years?

I used to spend $3000 on a new tower every 3 years for max settings but last year I grabbed a Series X for $500 and honestly I have more fun now since I spend less time tweaking settings and more time actually playing, anyone else make a similar switch and regret it or feel relieved?

wait hold up, 45 MINUTES messing with settings?? That's actually wild dude. I thought my 15 minutes of tweaking was bad but that's next level dedication to chasing frames you'll never actually catch lol. the part about going back to your PC for a Steam sale game and spending almost an hour before giving up really hit different for me. that's the exact kind of self torture I went through with my rig before I finally admitted the console life was just easier.

Man I've been THERE with the constant tinkering. I used to be the guy who'd spend hours tweaking shadows and anti-aliasing before even starting a game. Then I picked up a PS5 on a whim and realized I was having way more fun just hitting "play". The REAL kicker for me was when I went back to my PC for a Steam sale game and spent 45 minutes messing with graphics settings before realizing I was never gonna be happy with the performance. Now I keep my PC for strategy games and exclusive stuff, but my Series X is my main machine for shooters and action games. That $3000 every few years was honestly more about the obsession than the actual gaming.
