TIL that my yearly camping trip turned into a mini-crime scene investigation
Last summer at Lake Tahoe, I found a note on my tent saying 'the sasquatch took your bacon.' I laughed it off until I noticed weird handprints around the fire pit. After 3 days of looking for clues, I realized my buddy Dave was pulling a prank because he'd been reading too many Bigfoot forums online. Now I lock my food in the car and double-check who's camping next to me. Has anyone else had a friend mess with them during a trip like this?

Three years ago at Yosemite, my friend Carol replaced all my camp coffee with decaf and left a note saying "the bear union negotiated for better brew." I spent two full days convinced I was losing my mind because my usual foggy morning brain turned into actual confusion. Turns out she acted it out so well she even smeared bear-shaped handprints on my cooler using chocolate pudding. I only figured it out when I caught her giggling into her sleeping bag after I complained to a park ranger about "caffeinated bears." Now I keep my coffee locked up tighter than my food and give anyone who camps with me a background check first.
