Why do people still believe the moon landing was faked in 2024?
I was in a bar last month in Cleveland and this guy at the next table goes off about how the moon landing was filmed in a desert, and he was dead serious. He kept pointing at shadows in photos and saying the flag waving proves it. I tried to bring up the retroreflectors that anyone can bounce a laser off, but he just said NASA put those there later. What gets me is how people mix up real conspiracy research with this stuff. There are actual shady things like Operation Paperclip or the Tuskegee experiments that deserve scrutiny, but the moon landing has so much physical evidence, from rock samples to live TV signals received by independent stations. So why do people cling to the faked landing theory when there's way more solid stuff to dig into? Has anyone here actually changed a true believer's mind with the science, or is it a lost cause? I'd love to hear if anyone's broken through. Sorry for the long post, I've got three kids and this is my only outlet tonight.

The whole thing falls apart when you realize the Soviets, their biggest enemies, would have exposed the hoax in a heartbeat, and they were tracking every signal. That guy in the bar probably never got past the shadows because once you see a thousand photos and read the Apollo 11 transcripts, you realize the "evidence" is just people not understanding how light works in a vacuum.
