A missing as built drawing cost me 11 days on a $2.4M job in Boise
We were running conduit in a hospital wing in Boise and hit a duct bank that was not on any drawing we had. Turns out the as built was from 1998 and nobody ever updated it, so we had to pothole the whole route by hand while the GC stood over us. It took 11 days and about $18k in extra labor to figure out a path around it, and we almost missed the slab pour. Feels like half my job is chasing paper that does not match what is in the ground, so do any of you require old as builts to be field verified before you bid the job?
