Showerthought: watching a crew in Fort Worth showed me the real cost of a sloppy laydown yard
I was walking past a mid-rise job on 7th Street in Fort Worth last week and noticed their material laydown area was a total mess, pallets of rebar mixed in with drywall and nobody could tell what was staged for tomorrow. Watched a guy spend about 15 minutes hunting for a specific anchor bolt box while two other trades waited on him. For a crew of 40 or so that adds up fast, maybe 2 or 3 lost labor hours a day just from bad staging. Has anyone here tried painted zone markings or a simple daily sweep sheet to fix this, and did it actually stick?
