Superintendent called my site paperwork a mess, now I use color coded tabs

Last month on a 40 unit apartment build outside Austin, our superintendent pulled me aside and said my daily logs were impossible to follow. He told me he had to flip through 3 different notebooks just to find the concrete pour inspection date. So I spent a weekend setting up a single 3 ring binder with red tabs for inspections, blue for deliveries, and green for change orders. Now I can answer any question in under 30 seconds, and my morning meetings with the GC go way faster. It sounds dumb but just organizing by those three colors cut my admin time by maybe 2 hours a week. Has anyone else had a boss or inspector give them a system that just clicked, or am I the last guy to figure this out?
