Serious question, why is everyone obsessed with lip filler these days?

I used to get 1ml every 6 months like clockwork at a clinic in Portland, but after my third session I noticed my upper lip just looked puffy and stiff, not fuller. Now I only get 0.5ml once a year and use a lip flip with Botox instead, which gives a softer result for half the cost. Has anyone else scaled back their filler routine after realizing less is more, or am I the only one who feels this way?
