Site managers planning jobs without crane op input is reckless
It's crazy how they set up the whole lift without asking us first. We know the crane's reach and load limits, but they just guess and cause holdups. Our voice needs to be in the room from day one.

My old boss always guessed the crane reach wrong by like twenty feet. It's basic planning to ask the people running the gear.

Recall reading a case study from a safety journal last year. A site in Texas had a near-miss because the lift plan was based on old maps. The crane op spotted the power lines that management missed. Including ops in planning isn't just smart, it's a basic safety check.
