Had a talk with my bank teller that made me rethink credit utilization
She said keeping my balance under 30% wasn't enough, and that 10% is really the sweet spot for maxing out score gains. I dropped my utilization from 22% to 8% last month and my score jumped 34 points. Anyone else hear different numbers from their bank people?

Ah, respectfully I gotta push back on that. I tried the whole 10% thing for a few months and yeah my score ticked up a little but it was way more hassle than it was worth for maybe 10 extra points. The real trick is just paying your statement balance in full every month, utilization resets anyway and lenders don't care about your score from last week.

That "hassle isn't worth it" feeling applies to so many money tips I've seen online, doesn't it?
