Floor guy told me to wait 48 hours before walking on tile and I ignored him
My tile guy said 48 hours minimum before stepping on a floor I just laid in my own house, but I walked on it after 24 to grab a tool. Now three tiles have hairline cracks right where I stepped, and I gotta tear them out this weekend. Anyone else learn the hard way that drying times aren't just suggestions?

Oh man, that hurts just reading it. Had the same thing happen with some big format porcelain tiles in my laundry room a while back. Thought 24 hours was plenty for a quick trip across the room, nope, cracked two tiles right in the middle where my heel dug in. Mortar sets from the bottom up and that top layer is still soft, you're basically putting all your weight on thin air under the tile. Now I set a timer and put a big cardboard sign on the floor that says "NO STEPPING UNTIL SATURDAY.
