Just crunched the numbers on my cheaper laptop battery swap
I paid $40 for a third-party battery on my old Dell from 2019, and after 6 months it still holds 92% charge while my friend's $120 OEM replacement dropped to 78%. Found the stat from a battery health test we ran side by side last weekend - anyone else seeing better luck with the budget parts?

Guess you paid less for better luck.

That "better luck" part is kind of a sore spot. Had a similar issue last year where I paid more and got a unit that crapped out in three months. The trick is to look at the warranty length, not just the price tag. If they offer more coverage for less money, they might actually believe in their product more. I always check the fine print on what's not covered too, that's where they hide the real costs.
