Hit my 90 day perfect attendance streak at the warehouse today
I’ve been at this distribution center in Phoenix for about 3 years now. It’s a total dead end, no raises, no promotions, just moving boxes from 4pm to midnight. Last month I decided to set a silly personal goal to see if I could go 90 days without a single call-out or late punch. Today I hit that mark. My supervisor just grunted when I mentioned it, didn’t even look up from his clipboard. But I felt like I actually accomplished something for once, even if nobody else cares. The best part is I used the extra pay from not missing shifts to finally put $200 into a savings account. Has anyone else found a weird little goal to keep you going in a job that feels like a hamster wheel?

The hamster wheel part... yeah that hits home. I set a goal to memorize all the loading dock bay numbers and their corresponding truck companies by heart. Took me like two months and my brain is now filled with useless info like 'Bay 7 is always Swift Logistics unless it's a Tuesday.' I'm pretty sure I peaked in life at that moment.

Dude you're living your glory days on a loading dock. Must feel legendary.
