That one comment about my voiceovers that finally clicked

I used to record my video tutorials in my normal speaking voice, real flat and monotone like I was reading a script. A viewer in a forum said 'you sound like you're bored of your own subject' and that stung but it was true. So I started talking like I was explaining it to a friend over coffee, adding little pauses and emphasis where it felt natural. Now I re-record like 3 times to get the energy right and my retention went way up. Anyone else get a critique that completely changed how you present your work?

Wait was it a specific forum or just random feedback? Always wonder where people get the real honest stuff that actually helps.

Nah, I actually think random feedback is way more honest (since people have no reason to sugarcoat it).
