I dropped $400 on a fancy paint sprayer and wish I had just used a brush

Bought a Graco Magnum sprayer last spring to paint my living room and two bedrooms in about three weekends. Ended up spending more time cleaning the thing between coats than actually painting, and I still got overspray on my hardwood floors that took hours to wipe off. A good angled brush and a roller would have cost me maybe $60 and gotten the same result with less hassle. Any of you had better luck with sprayers for indoor walls, or do you think they are only worth it for fences and outdoor stuff?

Cant believe you spent $400 on that thing without testing it first on a piece of cardboard or something. I borrowed a friend's sprayer once for a cabinet project and the cleanup took longer than the actual painting. For indoor walls honestly a good brush and roller combo is way less stressful.

Who else buys tools first and learns how to use them later...?
