Vent: I used to think my 2D floor plans were fine until a contractor in Phoenix asked me a simple question.
I was showing him my drawings for a kitchen remodel, and he pointed at a wall and said, 'Where's the outlet for the fridge?' I had completely missed it because I was so focused on the layout and dimensions. Has anyone else had a client or builder catch a basic thing you overlooked because you were in the weeds on the details?

Yeah, I used to be so sure my plans were solid, just focusing on the big picture stuff. Then a plumber looked at a bathroom layout and asked where the cleanout for the main drain was supposed to go. I had to just stare at the page. It totally changed how I work now. I run through a basic checklist for each room before I call anything done, stuff like outlets, switches, and access panels. It saves so much hassle later.

Oh man, that's the worst feeling! It's always the simple stuff that slips through. Been there for sure.

Forget outlets, I once forgot to draw a door to a bathroom lol. The client was just staring at the plan asking how you get in.
