Thought I'd impress my date with homemade pasta. It was a gluey mess, but we laughed so hard and got tacos lmao.

Actually used to think dates needed perfect fancy meals. A gluey pasta disaster turning into taco laughs sounds way better though, right? Those messy fails make the real memories.

How did you finally let go of that need for perfection? I kept trying to make these complicated recipes early on and it just made me a nervous wreck the whole night. Switched to just making a big pile of nachos or ordering a pizza we could share. The night got way better because we could actually talk instead of me stressing in the kitchen. That shift made all the difference, just laughing over something simple instead of serving a tense, fancy meal.

Honestly used to believe the effort was the whole point, like proving something. Then I burned a whole tray of garlic bread so bad the smoke alarm went off right as my date arrived. We ended up eating cereal and watching dumb videos, and it was the most fun I'd had in ages. Realized the goal is just to be together, not to perform. Your nachos and pizza plan is totally the move.
