My dad thought he could help by sanding, but he used the wrong grit.

I had to redo the whole surface. Now I explain grit levels to anyone helping. It stops a lot of extra work.

Tell your dad what grit he used. Might save someone else the same headache.

Get why @piper696 suggests sharing the grit number, but I always explain the whole system instead. I tell people that low grit cuts fast and high grit makes things smooth. My buddy learned this and now he never grabs the wrong paper by mistake. It builds better habits for next time!
