Why I make my own workouts instead of following videos

I used to think online workout videos were the BEST way to get fit at home. EVERYONE here recommends them, but I changed my mind. After months of following the same routines, I felt bored and stuck. So, I started picking exercises I actually liked, like push-ups and squats. I mixed them up based on how I felt each day. Now, my workouts are more fun and I see real progress. It's not that videos are useless, but they don't work for everyone. Taking charge of my routine made a HUGE difference for me.

Consider your workout space limits before copying a video's full routine.

Have you ever almost hit a ceiling fan doing jumping jacks? I followed a workout video in my small bedroom and my hand grazed the light fixture! That was enough to make me move the coffee table every time. Now I leave out the big jumps and just march in place.

Space limits don't matter, just copy the whole thing.
