My driveway finally looked decent after 3 years of putting it off

I sealed my asphalt driveway last weekend after putting it off since I moved into my house in 2021. The before and after is like night and day, the cracks were getting bad enough that weeds were popping up every spring. I used two 5-gallon buckets of a sealer from Lowe's and it took me about 4 hours total. Has anyone else noticed how much difference a simple seal coat makes or is it just me?

My brother in law did his last summer and told me it was a game changer. I finally tried it this spring and honestly it made such a difference I wish I had done it sooner. The old driveway had these little cracks that collected water and made it look terrible. Now it looks almost like new from the street. I think a lot of people don't realize how much a good seal coat can hide small imperfections and keep the surface from getting worse over time. It is one of those things that seems like a hassle but pays off quickly.

Right? Now I just need someone to seal coat my bank account after this.

Man oh man, @blairm35 hit the nail on the head. But here's something nobody brings up - seal coating can actually save your car's suspension too. Rough cracks and potholes get smoothed out, so you're not jolting your struts every time you pull in. Had a buddy who ignored his driveway for years and ended up replacing two shocks. That seal coat money looks cheap compared to that repair bill. Water freezing in cracks is bad, but the daily beating your car takes is worse.
