Vent: Heard some guy say 'just fight dirty' if you get jumped. Dumbest advice ever.
Was waiting for the bus last week and this dude was telling his friend that. Like yeah okay, grabbing someone's nuts works if it's a 1v1 in a gym. But three people jump you from behind? You're on the ground before you can do anything. Real street safety is about avoiding the fight altogether. Situational awareness, knowing exits, not walking with your face in your phone. Has anyone else heard this kind of bad advice and wanted to smack the person?

I hear you but honestly I feel like people on here act like every city is Gotham or something. Like yeah bad stuff happens sometimes but most people's experience with getting "jumped" is just some drunk dude at a party shoving them. I've walked around with headphones in plenty of times and the worst thing that happened was I missed my stop. Not saying you should be careless but the fear factor on these threads gets a little dramatic. Situational awareness is fine but acting like you need tactical training just to grab coffee is a bit much.

Man just start swinging and hope for the best lol. Like yeah, grab a handful of nothing because three dudes already got you on the concrete. I swear people talk about fighting like they're in a movie where the hero gets a second wind. Real life is more like "oop, there goes my phone and my wallet, guess I'll just die." Situational awareness is literally free, but guys will choose to walk around wearing headphones blasting music instead.
