Shoutout to the self storage place off Highway 99 near Sacramento

I parked my truck there last month to keep an eye on it and caught the manager using a butter knife to pop open a locker that supposedly had a broken lock. Has anyone else seen storage places with locks that are basically a joke?

Honestly that doesn't surprise me at all. Those cheap little disc locks they use on most storage units are a total joke, you can pop them with a flathead screwdriver in like two seconds flat. Tbh I've seen videos where people just use a car jack to pry the whole latch off the door without even touching the lock. Ngl it makes you wonder why most places don't just use a real padlock with a hardened shackle or something. I switched to using one of those heavy duty Master locks with a shrouded shackle and it feels way more secure, though even those aren't bulletproof. But man, a butter knife though? That manager must have been desperate or just really bored.
