My deadlift form broke down at 315 pounds and I ignored it for too long

I was at the YMCA in Grand Rapids back in February, pulling 315 for a set of five. On the third rep, I felt my lower back round hard, but I finished the set anyway because I thought I was being tough. The next morning I could barely get out of bed, and I spent two weeks doing nothing but foam rolling and walking. I should have reset my hips and dropped the weight the second I felt that shift. Has anyone else pushed through bad form and paid for it like this?

My buddy Dave did the same thing with 335 last fall and his chiropractor named his boat after the money Dave paid him. I swear you could hear his spine go "pop" from across the gym.

Jakeperry, you just described my exact fear of trying anything over 225 on the deadlift bar. I swear my lower back creaks like an old door when I squat too deep. Dave might be okay now but I bet if you asked him five years from now he'd say nope not worth it. I'd rather lift light and live to complain about it than end up in a chiropractor's new boat fund. Honestly some heavy lifts just arent for us regular folks.
