inHad a client in Bellingham ask me why I was saving all the wood chips
Totally get that, had the same thing happen last year. Felt like such a waste just dumping them at the green waste site. Now we drop a load at the community garden whenever we're nearby, and they love it for mulch. Saves us a trip and helps them out, it's a win-win.

inBack in 2010, I had to choose between staying at the salon or going mobile
Mobile was the best call for me too. Tbh, the freedom beats a salon chair any day. For tools, I use a tackle box insert in my roller bag for all the small stuff, like clips and pins. Keeps every bobby pin in its own little spot so you aren't digging around. A carabiner on the handle for your extension cord is a lifesaver, stops you from forgetting it. Labeling the outside pockets of your kit saves so much time when you're in a rush.

inHad a brick saw blade shatter on me while cutting pavers for a patio job in Springfield.
Honestly that's probably on the user, not the blade. Gotta check for cracks before you start and use water to keep it cool. Pushing too hard or using a worn out blade is asking for trouble.

inRant: My old boss made us use cheap coax for a whole apartment block job
Isn't it crazy how often the "good enough" shortcut ends up costing way more time and money?

inBack in 2008, I used to carry a binder full of driver CDs for every motherboard brand.
Honestly, I still keep that binder. A universal driver pack sounds good until you get a weird conflict or a stripped down version. I'd rather have the exact file from the manufacturer's site, even if it takes a few extra minutes to download fresh. That old binder method just felt more reliable, you know? What happens if your flash drive gets corrupted?
