Update: My cheap soup plan backfired in a weird way
I tried to use up old vegetables by boiling them into a broth. Got a bunch of carrots and celery that were on sale. Things went south when I tossed in what I thought was parsley from my garden. Turns out it was a bunch of mint leaves I forgot about. The whole pot tasted like toothpaste, and I had to throw it out. Maybe it's just me, but idk, I should check my herbs better next time. At least the veggies were only a couple dollars, so not a huge loss.
