inWhy does nobody talk about using a pinch of salt in cold brew?
Wild" is a strong word for a pinch of salt.

inJust realized the shop's new policy on grinding bevels is slowing us down
That bit about a bad fit-up causing rework is so true. It reminds me of this one time we had a guy who could freehand a bevel so fast it was scary, but his consistency was all over the place. The welders would get so mad because the gap would be perfect for six inches and then suddenly way too tight. Ended up causing more problems than it solved, even if it looked quick on paper. Sometimes the slower, steady way keeps the whole crew from getting held up later.

inGot caught in a surprise blizzard on Mount Hood last October and it totally changed how I pack my bag.
Yeah, I always thought those foil blankets were fine. After reading this, I'm grabbing a bivy before my next trip.

inVent: The new bakery in Portland has a sign that says 'no substitutions' and I think it's a mistake.
But what if it's the only bakery in town, @shane_martinez44?

inCan we talk about the real cost of rework on a commercial site?
That number is crazy but it makes total sense. It's like the "measure twice, cut once" rule got forgotten on a huge scale. Honestly, this happens everywhere now, from building a deck to wiring a house. People are in such a rush to get to the next step that they skip the basic checks. You need a system where nothing gets covered up until the foreman from that trade and the super both sign off on it. Photos and checklists are your best friend before any insulation or drywall shows up.
