Why does nobody talk about fixing the cheap, plastic cameras?
I was sorting through a box of old cameras (mostly thrift store finds) and it hit me: everyone focuses on high-end gear, but I think repairing those basic, plastic point-and-shoots is just as valuable. For example, I fixed a simple one for a friend's kid, and now they're into photography (which is pretty cool, right?). Most repairers might say it's not worth the time or parts, but I believe keeping these cameras alive helps people start shooting without big costs. Plus, the skills you learn from working on fragile plastic can apply to sturdier models later. So, my unpopular view is that we should give these cheap cameras more love in the shop. What's your take on that?
