inMy coop's automatic door opener failed during a freeze in Spokane last night, and the birds were locked out.
Ugh that's even worse when the whole system goes down! @wright.dakota is right, that cold is brutal for anything stuck outside.

inMy uncle in Phoenix swore by using a 12-inch seam roller for everything, but it cost me a job.
Short nap berber" is the key detail there. That stuff shows every little thing. A big roller on a low, tight pile like that is just asking for trouble.

inMy aunt told me to always bake with salted butter, and I think she's totally wrong
It works, but just a tiny pinch of salt is all you need. Too much and you'll taste it.

inThe big argument on my last job site was about pre-heating for P91 welds
Yeah, the "old timers vs. the new code books" thing is a classic. A buddy of mine had a job shut down for two days over weld pre-heat specs. The foreman was going by the way he'd done it for 30 years, and the kid with the new API code printout was just waving it in his face. They finally had to call the welding engineer out to the site, just like @wyatt932 said, and it turned out the old guy was way off. All that time and money lost because nobody wanted to check the book first.

inI saw a coffee shop in Portland with a sign that said 'We run on code and caffeine' and the Wi-Fi password was 'hello_world'
That's a solid combo. My local spot had the password 'null' for a while. It was funny until you had to explain it to every confused customer. They switched to 'coffee123' which is way less fun but way fewer support calls. The trick is finding that sweet spot where it's clever but not confusing.
