inMy wobbly bookshelf project changed how I see online tutorials
Maybe your skill ceiling is just the videos you picked. Sometimes you need a person to point at the wall and say "that part isn't straight" before you start.

inCleaning out my closet and found a quilt I never finished
It's cool how @charlie_stone84 found a middle ground. Sometimes the old pattern itself feels off, but cutting it up for new things totally keeps the memory. Like turning a dated floral into quilt squares for a pillow, or using the best color bits in a modern patchwork bag. That way you still see her favorite colors every day, just in a way that fits your style now. The love's in the fabric, not just the original shape.

inI always avoided the Maple Canyon route due to reports of bugs, but a late fall hike proved me wrong
Hold up, I gotta disagree here. Sure, ticks are a pain, but have you ever tried hiking in summer when the mosquitoes are so thick you can't breathe? At least in fall you can layer up and avoid the worst of the bugs. That cold air actually feels good once you get moving, and you don't have sweat dripping in your eyes the whole time. Plus, those fall colors make everything worth it, even if you have to check for ticks later. Gloves fix the hand ache thing, but bug spray never really works in peak summer.
