inThat whole 'location location location' saying finally clicked for me
Give it some time before you get too excited. Those transit premiums can be real in the short term but they depend a lot on the city and if the line actually delivers on ridership. My buddy bought near a new streetcar in Phoenix thinking he was set and the thing underperformed big time. That 15% bump might hold up or it could settle back down once the novelty wears off.

inWorked drive-thru for 6 months before realizing I was handing hot coffee lids wrong
Wait, that's how you're supposed to do it? I always just snapped them on any old way and figured leaks were just part of the deal. A buddy of mine who worked at a coffee shop told me the same thing a few months back, and I felt so dumb. I mean, it makes total sense now - the seam is the weak spot, so you gotta line up the tab to hold it tight. Kinda like how I used to put on my car's gas cap wrong for years, just twisting it till it felt tight. Someone finally showed me you gotta hear the clicks or it'll leak fumes. Glad the customer wasn't mean about it. Some people would've lost it over hot coffee on their hands.

inThat time my coworker ran a grinder without the guard for 3 years without incident
Keep a spare guard in your toolbox and just swap it on before you leave. Saves everyone the hassle of hunting for them.

inBuilt a shelf for my garage and it collapsed 2 hours later
My first house had metal studs in the basement too, and I learned that trick the hard way... regular screws just strip right out or bend. You gotta use self-tapping sheet metal screws, like #8 or #10 size, or else even the strongest drill will leave you cursing at the wall. Those metal studs are thin gauge and standard wood screws won't hold at all, they'll just spin and chew up the drywall. Also pre-drilling with a smaller bit helps a ton if you're going into a thicker gauge stud, saves you a lot of frustration. So yeah, wood screws are a waste of time here, you need the right fastener for the job.

inMy 5 year old laptop fan started screaming last week so I fixed it myself
My 2017 HP had the same thing happen except the fan actually died two weeks later because the bearings were already worn out from years of strain. A quick dusting might feel like a fix but you might be masking a bigger problem if the motor was already overheating. If that fan seizes up mid-estimate you will lose way more than 80 bucks in time and pissed off customers waiting on a quote.
