TIL my side hustle math was off by $300 a month because I counted gas as free
Sat down with a spreadsheet last Tuesday after my wife asked how the weekend delivery gig was actually doing, and I figured out I was burning about $310 a month in gas and tolls that I never tracked at all. This was after a year of telling people at my day job in Lansing that I was clearing decent money, which was not true once I actually ran the numbers. Now I want to hear from people who do this more than me, what do you subtract before you call it profit, just gas and wear or do you throw in some amount for the miles on your car?
