inI finally understood the point of a dedicated egg pan after talking to a baker.
That "heat transfer thing" made me finally get why my grandma's old cast iron works so much better than my fancy non-stick.

inMy cousin in Omaha said he doesn't even argue about the moon landing anymore, he just asks 'what changed your mind?'
That's actually a huge step forward. It changes the whole vibe from a fight to a real talk. When someone just asks why you believe something, it forces you to actually explain your own reasons, not just repeat talking points. It probably makes him think harder about his own views too. More people should try this, it cuts through so much noise. Sounds like your uncle finally figured out how to have a conversation instead of an argument.

inQuestion about using a framing nailer for finish trim
Oh man, @barbara_hall9 is totally right. I learned this the hard way on some window trim. A framing nailer just blows out the back of thin stock every time, right? You end up with these ugly little splits that the paint never really hides, and then you're sanding filler for an hour. Sure, a finish nailer takes a few more seconds per piece, but you're not going back to fix anything later. Isn't that actually faster in the long run?

inTIL my old boss was right about sticking with the factory service manual over YouTube for that 2012 F-150 timing job.
Oof... that's a brutal lesson.

Ever had to pull up a whole row because one board was off?
