Appreciation post: How small daily writing sessions got my novel draft moving again
I used to think you needed huge chunks of time to write a novel, so mine sat for a year. What made me see it differently was a tip about doing just 15 minutes a day. I gave it a try, starting each morning with a timer. At first, it felt too small to matter, but after a week, I had a new scene. Two months later, I've added five chapters without stress. The big shift was dropping the idea that progress has to be huge. I keep a notepad handy for quick ideas, which keeps the story alive. Now I'm excited to chip away at it every day.

That "progress has to be huge" thing used to stop me too. This makes way more sense, just chip away at it.

Totally get this, setting a timer really changed how I write too. What helped me even more was picking the same time each day, like right after coffee. It sort of trains your brain to be ready.
