inA customer in Portland once told me my headbands were too tight
Ever think some rules are just habits we never questioned? I used to press way too hard when sharpening pencils for sketching, thought it gave a cleaner point. Turns out I was just snapping the lead half the time. A friend watched me do it once and was like, why are you fighting that pencil?

inHonestly, I hit 365 days straight in my bullet journal and it's not what I thought it would be.
I read a blog post once where the writer said a bullet journal should feel like a map of your own brain. I pictured mine being full of cool drawings and color coded notes. The reality is a few scribbled to do items that I never look at again. It feels less like a map and more like a receipt for stuff I already bought and forgot. I guess I hoped it would make me feel in control, but it just reminds me of what I didn't do.

inMy comic shop's 'free for all' signing event almost ruined my favorite book
I remember a 1998 convention where a guy in a full Ghost Rider costume backed into my display table. He sent my mint copy of Amazing Spider-Man 129, already signed by Stan Lee, right into a puddle of coffee on the floor. The cover looked like a Rorschach test. My attempt at fixing it with a warm iron and a towel just made the colors run, so now I have a unique, if sad, piece of comic history. I learned the hard way that some stains just become part of the book's story, a story that now includes a very sorry man in plastic spikes.

inHad to choose between two different wire crimpers for a job on a Citation X
My buddy in the hangar next door swears his pneumatic crimper is a game changer for big connector jobs.

inAppreciation post: How small daily writing sessions got my novel draft moving again
That "progress has to be huge" thing used to stop me too. This makes way more sense, just chip away at it.
