Can we talk about the neighbor who said "done is better than perfect" about my half-built bookcase?
I have a bookcase sitting in my garage since March. Shelves cut, stain bought, and the whole thing is just leaning against the wall. Last Saturday a neighbor peeked in while I was getting the mail and said "that thing's been halfway done for 3 months, huh?" Then he said "done is better than perfect, just screw it together and move on." I've been chewing on that all week. I keep telling myself I need to sand it one more time or the stain won't match, and it's just sitting there. So now I'm trying to decide if he's right or if finishing it sloppy will bug me every time I look at it. How do you all know when good enough is actually good enough to call a project done?
