Found a trick for reviving dried out paint markers with rubbing alcohol
Last month I was digging through my garage and found a box of paint markers from a mural project I abandoned 3 years ago. Every single one was dried up and useless. I was about to toss them but remembered reading somewhere that you can revive alcohol-based markers with isopropyl. I grabbed a 91% bottle from the pharmacy and dripped a few drops into the tip of each marker. Let them sit cap down for 10 minutes and then shook them for a solid 30 seconds. Three out of five came back to life and worked perfectly on a test piece of cardboard. The other two were probably too far gone from being stored sideways for years. Has anyone else tried this on old paint markers or is there a better solvent I should use?

Ha I bet water would turn em into a mushy mess. Sounds like something I'd do after a long day when I grab the wrong bottle off the shelf. At least your friend learned the hard way so the rest of us don't have to.
