Just realized my whole 'write a chapter a day' plan was killing my novel
Honestly, I was forcing myself to write 1,000 words every single morning for my fantasy book, but after 6 months I had 90,000 words of stuff I hated. Ngl, what tipped me off was reading a single paragraph I wrote last week and feeling nothing. Has anyone else scrapped a huge chunk of work and found a better way to keep going?

What finally worked for you after that? I had to stop counting words and just write one good scene at a time.

You mentioned writing one good scene at a time. How do you actually decide what makes a scene "good" enough to stop for the day? Is it a feeling, or do you have a specific goal for each one?
