My biggest time-waster was labeling every single file instead of using search

I had this project sitting half-finished for about eight months because I kept getting stuck on organizing my reference photos. I must have spent like 40 hours total trying to name each image with the perfect system, you know, color codes and dates and project names all in a row. Turns out a simple Windows search bar can find anything I need in under 10 seconds if I just type a keyword. The problem was I wanted everything neat and tidy, but neat and tidy doesnt matter if the project never gets done. I finally just dumped all 300 unlabeled photos into one folder and started working, and I finished the whole thing in a weekend. Has anyone else run into this where your need to organize actually becomes the main roadblock? What was the thing that finally got you to just move forward and stop fussing with the setup?

Did you read that one blog post about how perfectionism actually kills productivity?

Perfectionism is just procrastination in a fancy disguise... Waiting until everything is "just right" means nothing ever gets finished. Doing it well beats not doing it at all.
